We participated in this year’s edition of the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC 2025) – one of the world’s largest conferences dedicated to modeling, simulation, and training in defense technologies.
Scale of the Event
The I/ITSEC conference, organized annually in Orlando, Florida by the National Training and Simulation Association, is an event of exceptional scale. During the three-day meeting, thousands of specialists from the defense sector, industry, academia, and international allies exchange knowledge, establish business contacts, and explore technologies shaping the future of military training and operational readiness.
The trade show encompasses hundreds of exhibition booths showcasing the latest solutions – from advanced flight simulators, through marksmanship training systems, to autonomous robotic platforms and augmented reality technologies. Simultaneously, conference sessions, workshops, and case study presentations on the implementation of new technologies in actual military units take place.
Why IBIES at I/ITSEC?
Our presence at the conference aligns with the Foundation’s strategy of monitoring the latest trends in the security domain and building relationships with the international community of specialists involved in defense training and education. As an organization focused on social education in the field of security, we recognize the value of direct contact with solutions used by NATO member states’ armed forces and leading defense technology manufacturers.
The visit to I/ITSEC is also an opportunity to observe how countries with developed defense systems approach military personnel training, integration of new technologies, and – particularly important – education of young generations in fields crucial to national security.
First Impressions
We note several aspects that distinguish I/ITSEC from other industry events. First, the functionality of the presented solutions – most systems are available for direct testing, allowing for practical assessment of their training utility. Second, a very strong emphasis on educating young people – the conference dedicates significant resources to scholarship programs and activities aimed at students, demonstrating a systematic approach to building future defense sector personnel.
Third, accessibility of information – a “Show Daily” is published every day, a daily conference bulletin containing the most important news, interviews, and announcements of the day’s events. All materials are available in both print and online formats, facilitating navigation of the extensive exhibition area.
What’s Next?
In subsequent articles, we will share detailed observations regarding specific simulation technologies presented at I/ITSEC 2025 and introduce the American STEM education model and scholarship programs aimed at young people interested in careers in the defense sector.
